I just finished reading this book and I must say, my eyes were opened to some things I had no clue about. I don't have any other books to compare it to, so I can't say how it should rate in comparison to other books out there. I can honestly say, that although the book is a bit choppy at times, it is very informative and I believe every parent and grandparent should read it. It is not a book to entertain, but a book to inform and if it helps you to save ONE child from being a victim, then it has served its purpose. With that in mind I am giving it 5 stars. Not only does it describe personality traits in a sex-offender, it also provides vital information for reporting, getting help and assistance, and where to go to educate yourself regarding the laws in your own state.Product details

As a pastor and author of three books, one on raising children, I would highly recommend this book to any new or prospective parent, foster parent or even grandparents who are raising their children. To be forewarned is to be forearmed and in this day and age, I would say that it is of critical importance to be aware of such things. Sexual child abuse leaves emotional scares that can never, ever heal and the damage done is not easily undone. To say that this book is important is an understatement. It should be required reading for parents, for day cares, for school teachers, Sunday school teachers or ANYONE who comes in contact with children. I rate it a must-read, 5 out of 5 stars.
Powerful! Revealing! Informative! This book captures your attention and holds it to the very end. This is not fiction. These are real stories by real pedophiles. If you are a parent or grand parent you owe it to yourself to educate yourself on how to protect your children.
As an expectant father, I was concerned about the seeming rise of sex crimes against children. I need to know how to protect my family from what seems like an unstoppable and unpredictable tragedy.
As a previous review had said, I have nothing to compare this book to. It is wholly unlike anything I have ever read. The material is difficult at times, as I was faced with stories very similar to my own abuse as a child. But seeing clearly the "tells" as MBC calls them helps me see that I was not at fault as a child and moreso that I can prevent this from happening to my own children.
I really feel as though I have an inside look at the mind of a pedophile, which is not pretty. But I think that is the point, that it isn't packaged all pretty so that the author can tickle your ears and make you feel warm and fuzzy. He presents the information as it is, difficult and awful as it is.
I would recommend this book to anyone, parents especially, who want or need to know how to protect their children from the potential predators all around them. Practical, disturbing and necessary. Thank you MBC for pulling off the mask.
